Math Lines (best free educational Android apps for kids)
Another gem of a math app! No ads or in-app purchases, the whole app is right here ready to play. This is a great app for improving mental math because of the limited time available for each level. Players must shoot the colored balls from the center to the outer math line, ensuring the number on the middle ball adds up to ten with the number on the outer ball. Math Lines is very simple and targets a specific skill, but is so addictive that students will be asking to play in their free time.
Operating in a base 10 number system means math is really easy, right? Wrong! Some students take a little longer to grasp the "adding to ten" concept and need a little extra practice. They can get more practice with Math Lines! Being able to add two numbers to make 10 is a foundational skill found in Common Core State Standard K.OA.A.4 "For any number from 1 to 9, find the number that makes 10 when added to the given number, e.g., by using objects or drawings, and record the answer with a drawing or equation."
Teachers and homeschoolers will find this app an invaluable resource and a must-have app for the class tablet. High scores are listed on a leaderboard so it will be very obvious who is really catching on to this concept and who might need a little more work on it. Students will soon learn the tricks to clearing the line of numbers (for example, shooting at a group of balls that all have the same number to clear more at once) and will progress in no time. Definitely a must download.

Add up to 10 then destroy the balls, and the golden trophy shall be yours! In the game of Math Lines, your target is to remove the marbles by forming pairs that sum up to 10 so as to clear the line. When the game starts, a line of marbles marked with numbers 1 to 9 will be rolling on the path of a maze and moving towards the hole at the end of the path. Between the lines of the maze you will be given a launcher, in which a marble will be placed inside and ready to be shot, while the next piece will also be displayed. You may move your mouse to change the shooting direction of the launcher, or press Spacebar on your keyboard to switch the pieces, then click to release the marble. When the released ball forms a sum of 10 with an adjacent ball, those balls will be destroyed. Note that you can remove all adjacent balls of the same number with one shot, for example, when you shoot a ball of 7 and it forms a pair with a ball of 3, all of the adjacent pieces marked with 3 will also be removed. Continue the process until the whole line of balls are cleared, then you can proceed to the next level. Occasionally a coin will appear at the corner of the screen, and you may shoot the coin so that the balls can be sorted according to their colors for a while. If the balls reach the hole at the end of the path, you lose the game. Ease into the arithmetic mazes and experience the excitement of non-stop calculations and actions!
Destroy balls by forming pairs that add up to 10. Note that you can use one ball to destroy a group of same numbered balls.
