LEGO Juniors Create & Cruise (best free Android apps for kids)

Sometimes Duplo just does not cut it for your little one and they want the "big kids' Lego". Of course, you are reluctant to let them play with it because of 1) choking hazards 2) losing pieces 3) trips to ER to remove pieces from orifices. If this is your experience, then this brand new app from Lego is for you! Your child can enjoy building and driving their own vehicle while you can enjoy their peaceful play. LEGO Juniors Create & Cruise is a platforming game for toddlers and preschoolers, with a single platform, a single direction and lots of "coins" to collect. One great feature of this app is that it links to LEGO App4+ and your child can switch between the apps. How cool is that? You will be pleased you downloaded this one.

Players build a car, assemble a minifigure and then drive along a road collecting coins until they reach the destination. At the destination, a building is assembled before heading back to the workshop to start again. Just like the big kids' games, LEGO Juniors Create & Cruise requires the player to complete "levels" in order to unlock items. A level in this app simply means a set quota of gaming coins (which are really just very small yellow pieces of round Lego). Beginning with a basic car and minifigure, players unlock a variety of mods including wheels, chassis, car bodies, as well as minifigure legs, torsos, heads and head coverings. All in all there are a total of nearly 200,000 permutations for your child to discover.

Games like this one are the very beginnings of goal setting skills because the player wants to unlock the next item to complete a certain character for example. Achievements come in the form of buildings with a total of eight in the collection. What your child will not learn by playing this game is how to deal with disappointment. The driving requires absolutely no skill whatsoever and your child could still collect all the coins with his/her eyes shut! That could be the clincher for some, but if you are looking for five minutes peace, and an app that will not your frustrate your little one, then click on the link and download it today.

"In LEGO® Juniors Create & Cruise, children age 4-7 can use their imagination to create their very own LEGO® vehicles and mini figures. Cruising for coins will unlock virtual LEGO® sets that can be built with a few easy touches - and which will become part of the game’s colourful 3D scenery for your child’s next drive-through. Create & Cruise provides plenty of inspiration for real-life LEGO® builds and imaginative play scenarios you can talk to your child about - like why the pretty princess is driving a police car that has legs instead of wheels.

*Bright, fun and friendly animations and soundtrack
*Intuitive icons and navigation for easy gameplay
*Virtual building with LEGO® bricks

Cas was a little disappointed to discover that "Cruise" in the title did not refer to a luxury cruise-liner.
