Kidsopia: Play That Matters - NINE FREE apps for preschoolers (best free educational Android apps for kids)

This is an amazing find! Kidsopia is a Romanian based developer who has produced a range of early learning apps in different languages: English, Romanian, Hungarian and German. All of the apps are ad-free, excellent educational value and eight of them are fully free (no in-apps). The skills learned in these apps can be linked to the Common Core State Standards, and are practiced in increasing difficulty. From the Kidsopia website:

The main goal is to offer an amusing and intuitive way to learn about numbers, counting and letters, drawing and coloring, sizes, shapes and images, differences and similarities, animals, and many more, all presented within different adventures and stories. Encompassing different developmental areas such as: intellectual, creative and emotional, the Kidsopia platform offers to the parent a handy and useful tool for children to learn through play.

Numbers For Ducklings

Aimed at preschoolers, this app focuses on numbers from 1-10. Ducklings are ready to hatch and need the player to tap the egg a certain number of times to crack it. As the egg is tapped, the narrator counts, giving children practice with one-to-one correspondence counting. Verbal feedback is given for correct and incorrect number of taps.

Monkey King's Guises

This is another puzzle app, but this time the pieces are randomly cut and colored. Unlike the Duckling's puzzles that were jigsaw pieces, showing part of the scene, your child will not be able to guess what the pieces fitting together will make until the puzzle is complete. Challenging, yet simple enough for preschoolers to play.

You guessed it, this app is all about color. Not so much a learning app as a creative expression app. This is a simple coloring book with monkeys as the theme. Like the other Kidsopia apps, verbal encouragement is giving during the "painting" of the five scenes available.
