Sochi 2014 WOW (Best Free Olympic App for Android)
Samsung's Sochi 2014 WOW app is leading the pack with features for keeping track of what will be happening at the Winter Olympics in Sochi. Not only does the app have a countdown running until the sporting begins, but it is loaded with information from all participating countries, athletes, media, medals, schedules, venues, community and history. With this app, you won't ever have to ask what a "button" is in curling or what "luge" means (it's the French word for "sled"). The app is easy to navigate, so finding events and favorite athletes is a breeze. Users can even set the app to alert when events take place and medals are won. Please note that this app is best utilized with the help of an adult or by older users as it is text-heavy.
Sochi 2014 WOW has no ads, no in-app purchases, but does contain external links to other Samsung apps. Please note that the app also contains a "community" section where other users can post.
This is a great app to have around for making sure you never miss an event or want to know more about a specific sport, venue or athlete.
