Beginning with a two word sentence and working up to a six word sentence, Bob Books Reading Magic #1 gives your child four ways to interact with each scene:
  1. Drag and drop letters to match
  2. Learn left-to-right order
  3. Spell without visual hints
  4. Pick letters to spell words
The slight changes in difficulty between the different levels of difficulty ensure a high success rate which keeps children motivated. In fact, there is no penalty for wrongly placed letters, it just will not allow it. This errorless learning is perfect for children with autism or other special needs. The words used are CVC (consonant-vowel-consonant) words such as cat, dog and pig. The scenes are blackline drawings and as each word is spelled, that object is colored so that the whole scene brightens with color as your child reads the sentence.

I have used this app with my daughter with Down Syndrome and I just love watching her expression as she has those "light-bulb" moments. Definitely worth taking a look at, and you can buy Bob Books resources on Amazon. Just click on the scrolling images at the bottom of this post.

Cas thinks it's incredibly cute how her daughter says "I can read" after ever sentence that she reads.
